For years, there were silk mills that produced in addtion to more flat-weave silks and shiny satins, a more textured, nubby silk called Tussah, woven from the silk fibers but also the cases to create what some called "summer tweed." It's much more rare these days for a number of reasons including the scarcity of this type of silkworm, but we have found it at one of our favorite and one of the world's best Florentine mills. In our classic Harrods sportcoat, its lightness with texture makes it a perfect transitional piece with the luxury of silk as well as its thermoregulation properties:dense yet lightweight, it breathes in heat yet also insulates against any chill. With all the Crittenden elegance and special features plus Critt's legendary excellent fit, this will be a go-to jacket season after season.
